  • Savings accounts, money market accounts, or certificate of deposits can provide different benefits for your business. And chances are, life circumstances might change which is best for your business. If you need to start small with a minimal deposit, a regular savings account is likely the best place to start. You'll get the security of FDIC insurance and immediate access to your money when you need it.
  • If you have access to a larger amount of money that is required for regular business operating expenses, a money market account may be best for your business, but please keep in mind that this type of account also requires a higher initial deposit and minimum balance.
  • Feeling confident you won't need your savings for a while? A certificate of deposit may be the option since it will generally offer higher interest rates among savings accounts, but the tradeoff is that it will have early withdrawal penalties if immediate access to the money is needed. Learn more about certificate of deposits here.
