November Events of Holiday Fun!

As the holiday season grows upon us, there are many great events to check out throughout the Twin Cities Area! From Art Exhibits to Magical Train Rides, there are some fantastic opportunities to consider below.

Minneapolis

Art Attack 2018

Where: Northrup King Building      When:  November 2nd - 4th    Cost:  Free

Come explore the four levels of the Northrup King Building as a glimpse into visual art. Over 300 local artists will display their work, as well as beautiful live music brought to you by composers and singer/song writers. Some of the creative locals to watch, such as Ashley Mary and Minny and Paul, will have exclusive merchandise to purchase! While you're there you can even take your turn at creativity while participating in an interactive art display. The event will be open on Friday from 5:00 - 10:00 pm, Saturday from noon - 8:00 pm, and Sunday Noon - 5:00 pm. Make sure you stop by to meet some of the artists!

Indoor Winter Market

Where: Mill City Museum      When:  November 10th & 17th    Cost:  Free

As the outdoor market season comes to a close, become excited for the indoor season to come upon us! The winter market opens Saturday, November 10th, and will continue various Saturdays throughout February. Expect to find opportunities to purchase winter crops such as squash, green onions, dried beans, meat, and more! Live music can also be found at the event as well as handmade products to purchase. 

MCAD Art Sale

Where: Minneapolis College of Art & Design      When:  November 15th - 17th    Cost:  Free - $150

Looking to expand your art collection? Or perhaps you just want some more decoration for your home? Well regardless of your reasoning, make you sure you take the opportunity to attend the MCAD Art Sale. Original art pieces created by Minneapolis College of Art and Design students will be sold, as direct funds will go to the students and future scholarship funds. Tickets for the event are required on Thursday for $150, with doors open 6:00 - 9:00 PM, and also on Friday for $30, with doors open 6:00 - 9:00 PM. Saturday attendance is free with a longer opening from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. This is your chance to purchase affordable and emerging designs while supporting local students!

Holidazzle

Where: Loring Park     When:  November 23rd - December 23rd    Cost:  Free

Nothing brings the holiday spirit like the annual Holidazzle! Starting the weekend of November 23rd, this festival will be open to family fun up until December 23rd. Thursday evenings will be from 5:00 - 9:00 PM, Fridays from 5:00 - 10:00 PM, Saturdays 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM, and Sundays 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM. You can expect to see local businesses products, delicious food and beverages for purchase, live holiday music, and many entertainment aspects. Make sure you check out the schedule to view which nights will be movie nights, contain fireworks, or have a special guest for the children to meet - Santa! Did we mention that there will also be an ice skating rink and beautiful holiday art installments? With so many activities, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

Saint Paul 

Night Trains

Where: Downtown Saint Paul      When:  Saturdays Throughout November    Cost:  $12

Join the locals of Saint Paul with a special holiday tradition, magical train rides each Saturday from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Brought to you by the Twin City Model Railroad Museum, you can purchase tickets either online or day of.  Don't fear if your weekends are fairly full in November, as the fun rides will continue throughout February!

Christmas Saturdays at the James J. Hill House

Where: James J. Hill House      When:  Saturdays starting November 23rd   Cost:  $10

You may have once experienced the James J. Hill House as their usual historic display, but come along this holiday season to see how the Hill family and their servants once prepared for the festivities. This will be a self-guided tour typically about an hour and half long. This special experience will continue through Saturdays of December as well.

Holiday Fun at the Union Depot

Where: Union Depot    When:  November 30th - December 2nd    Cost:  Free

Festive activities continue at the Union Depot, kicking off at the end of November! Starting November 29th, the North Pole Express steam engine, vintage cars, and even a visit from Santa will be featured at the venue. Then on the 30th, the Holiday Tree Lightening Celebration will take place. The night will begin at 5:30 PM including live musical performances, a firework display, and the showing of the Movie - Elf. Stay tuned as the Union Depot will continue hosting Holiday fun throughout the month of December!

Saint Paul Ice Fishing and Winter Sports Show

Where: St.Paul RiverCentre     When:  November 29th - 30th    Cost:  $12

Gather some Christmas gifts while shopping over 190 exhibits of products from fishing and winter sports specialties. This event will display an assortment of affordable merchandise that any fisherman or outdoors lover will appreciate! Tickets may be purchased prior to the event online or at the door. 

Eden Prairie

Volumes & Vines

Where: Olympic Hills Golf Club     When: November 8th    Cost: $30 

Join the Hennepin County Library - Eden Prairie for a night of sampling delicious drinks and wonderful food items. This annual fundraiser will provide you access to over 100 select wines, craft ciders, and beers. A silent auction will also take place for a chance to bid on some fantastic items. This is a great opportunity to support your local readers as well as enjoy some new beverages!

Wayzata

Light Up the Lake

Where: Downtown Wayzata     When: November 23rd    Cost: Free

Kick off the holiday season in Wayzata at the annual Light Up the Lake event! Not only will the community be lighting the tree, but there will also be opportunities for various family fun. Taking place will be a children's candy hunt, horse drawn wagon rides, a visit from Santa, and more! To see the entire list of scheduled events, check it out here

Isanti

Home for the Holidays

Where: Isanti Community Center     When: November 10th    Cost: Free

The holiday season is filled with fantastic arts and crafts fairs, Home for the Holidays in Isanti is one of the excellent choices! This craft and vendor fair is hosted by the Isanti Ambassadors occurring one day only, November 10th, from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM. For more information check out the link above!

Shakopee

Autumn Festival - An Arts & Crafts Fair

Where: Canterbury Park     When: November 8th - 11th    Cost: $10

Come join one of the top 100 shows, according to Sunshine Artist Magazine, of the season! Some of the country's greatest crafts will be up for grabs, from some of the finest artists and crafters. There will be various forms of entertainment, chances to win gift certificates, delicious food and drinks, and fun for the entire family! The fair will take place on Thursday and Friday from 11 AM - 9 PM, Saturday 9 AM - 7 PM, and Sunday 10 AM - 5 PM. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door. Don't miss this opportunity to purchase some unique Holiday gifts!
